So when it comes to foundations, I can be quite picky. I like them Matte, But not too matte. I like them full coverage but not cakey. Basically I want alot from my foundations and I normally have to compromise. Until recently that is. My local superdrug had bit of a makeover and now have a brand called Lottie London. I am normally a cleansing oil kinda gal but I recently decided to take a break from what I knew and finally try some new cleansers. The first one being this one from the Boots Botanics Range. I believe it’s been rebranded also and I am loving the new packaging!
It’s been a while since I did a haul post. If I’m completely honest, I’ve been way to busy to shop this past couple of months. But last weekend, We had a little spare times on the saturday so we decided to pop into town. There was a few bits that I need to pick up because as always, I leave it until I run out of something completely until I need it again. So of course whilst I was in town I popped into Boots. I didn’t pick up loads but I just thought it would be nice to post what I picked up….
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, You’ll know how much I love cleansing oils. You’ll also know I have oily skin which I know, It seems a little strange for me to love cleansing oils so much but they are just my preferred way of cleansing. There is nothing better than after a long day, Using a cleansing oil and massaging it into your skin to remove all the of dirt and grime of the day.
Recently I’ve been enjoying using sheet masks alot more. I was a little vary at first but since using the TONY MOLY Rice Sheet Mask I’ve tried more sheet masks and actually quite like them. Since finding out how good they are, I’ve wanted to try more so I picked this us from Boots. It’s called the Ganier Skinactive Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask. As you can tell from the name, It’s meant to be moisturising. I do have oily skin so this isn’t one I would normally go for but since going away last month, my nose has been super dry so that’s the main reason I got it. The mask itself is nicely saturated in product, it’s a little tricky to unfold but I have found that with others also. It was a little short on my nose which was annoying because thats the whole reason I brought this mask, I ended up getting a little bit of product that was left in the packaging and putting it on any dry patches that the mask did’t cover. I left it on for 15 minutes like instructed and once removed, I massaged the excess into my skin. If I’m honest I didn’t actually notice much difference, It did moisturise my nose as the dry patches did get a lot better however apart from that i didnt really notice anything. I did have a break out on my chin later in the week aswell which might not be down to this but I haven’t been trying anything so all the fingers seem to be pointing to it. Overall, I was okay but I do prefer the TONY MOLY Rice Sheet mask as It feels alot more refreshing. I feel that if you have dry skin this mask would work really well for you but It’s not something I will be picking up again anytime soon.
Recently I found my self on the hunt for a fuss free cleanser. I went to Lanzarote for a week not long ago and was in need of a space-saving cleanser. I normally have two cleansers, One is an oil and one is a gel wash to remove any left other makeup, But it seemed stupid to cart 2 separate cleansers to lanzarote. I’d seen a few people on youtube talk about this Garnier Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash and rave how amazing it was at removing makeup. It seemed like a perfect idea. When I went to Superdrug to pick it up there were a few to choose from, One had a pink lid (to go with the original micellar water), Then there was this one which is aimed at combination/sensitive skin. It has no parfume, Which is perfect for sensitive skin, It even says that it’s okay to use on your eyes. I would never normally dream of using any gel cleanser on my eyes but as It said it would be okay, I gave it ago, Stupidly…It didn’t go to well. To be completely honest, It stung like a b*tch. I was really disappointed as I thought I’d be able to use it like I’d use my oil cleanser and it would remove my eye make up without having to claw my eyes out afterwards. I wouldn’t recommend using this on your eyes, HOWEVER, for the rest of the holiday I used it on the rest of my face only and It did work really well. I even did the white towel test and it did work which I was amazed at! It also claims to mattify which I think it did a pretty good job of. Perfect for the hot weather. I’m not sure if it is just this green top one that isn’t very good for your eyes so I’m considering giving the pink one ago. It’s only £2.66 which is incredibly affordable so I think I’m going to give the other one a chance. Wish me and my eyes luck.
