Agh, I’m back at it. You may have noticed I have been a little quiet over the past couple a weeks and that is because I have been a very busy bee! I’ve mainly been concentrating on Danny’s clothing brand so I haven’t had much time to sit down and write! Oh boy have I missed it though…And what better way to start of but with a cheeky foundation review? Take a seat ’cause your in for a treat. just realised that rhymed, I swear that wasn’t planned! ….. If some of you are on the lookout for a new eye cream, I'd definitely continue reading. I am forever on the hunt for something to sort my under eye bags out. Yes I may only be 21 years of age, However I am almost certain I am getting wrinkles.
Another blog post about highlighters, 2 in fact. These beauties come from Make Up Revolution and they go by the names of Skin Kiss. They do 4 shades in total but these were the two I opted for as these were the two I thought I would get the most use out of. I got the shade ‘ice kiss‘ and ‘Golden Kiss‘. Ice kiss is a cool toned almost white highlight and Golden Kiss is a warm champagne highlight. Continue reading “Makeup Revolution Skin kiss Highlighters |REVIEW”
For a long time now, I’ve been wanted to try the Bye Nye Banana powder, But it’d not something that is easy to get hold of and it’s also quite expensive. So of course you can imagine my excitement when I saw this in Superdrug. Now makes revolution have been getting a little bit of stick recently for ‘copying’ High end brands which granted, They do but It makes products like this that are hard to get hold of in the uk, accessible to us and I personally can’t complain. Enough on that matter.
So alot of people are into loose powder, I actually have tried any like this before. They are mainly used for ‘baking’ which to me sounds complicated. However to give this powder a good test I gave it ago both ways, Baking and just using it as a normal powder to mattify everything. I have to say, I was very impressed, As always with products from makeup revolution, When will I find a bad product!? This powder can get quite messy, The lid is tiny which Is slightly annoying when coming to decant it, It would be nice to have a bigger lid on there so you can put the powder in there instead of using something else to put it on. I ended up using the lid of another product which worked alot better. I damped my beauty blender and dabbed it in the powder and then gently placed some powder under my eyes after I had concealed and also just underneath where I contour. Not going to lie, I did look abit crazy but I persevered with it. I left it on whilst I did my eyebrows and eye makeup, Then used a small Real Techniques contour brush to swipe away. I have to say I wasn’t expecting the result I had. My under eye area actually looked flawless, No little wrinkles, No dry patches or little bumps, NOTHING. And it stayed that way all day. I then used the left over powered to set my T zone because that’s where it gets a little oily. It did a really good job of it aswell. Although the results where amazing, I do think that this powder is something to use when you have a little bit more time. I wouldn’t use this in the morning before work because It takes bit more effort, And at half 7 in the morning, I cannot be arsed with that. I would tend to reach for this on weekends or if I was going out. Even though I didn’t really look like the people on instagram when ‘baking’, I will definitely be doing it more now!
When It comes to skincare, I’m pretty lazy. I don’t have a fancy 17-product routine that I do every night because Lets be honest, It’s just not very realistic. Half the time I’m so tired I can’t even open my eyes to look in the mirror, Let alone apply a mountain of products. I must say though, It has improved over the years. I used to just use some simple makeup wipes and that was my “routine” done. I soon realised as I grew up it was doing me no favours. So nowadays I like to still make sure my skin is clean and moisturised, But not too much. I think most products nowadays are just gimmicky. It’s all well and good having an extremely good expensive serum, But does it really do anything different? Half the time it doesn’t, You’re just paying for the brand.
I’m always on the lookout for something to make things easier when it comes to my skincare, Cutting corners as they say. So when I come across the Formula 10.0.06 So Totally Clean Deep Pore Cleanser, I knew that I’d love it. It’s a 2 in 1 cleanser and toner which is for oily/spot prone skin. I’ve tried alot from there range and I have loved everything so far. So I had high expectations for this, and it didn’t disappoint! It’s meant to wipe away dirt, oil and impurities leaving healthy and clear skin which I’d say It certainly does. I use this as a second cleanse after using an oil cleanser and you can still see something on the pad after using this. It feels so refreshing aswell, It feels like it been in the fridge all night when you use it. It just feels so cooling.
I wouldn’t recommend this to those of you that have sensitive skin as it can sting a little on any dry patches and spots. It does contain alcohol which is good for those of you with any blemishes or oily skin, but may be bit harsh on sensitive skin. I used to use another normal cleanser as my second cleanse, Just your typical gel cleanser, but now all I need to do is splash some of this onto a cotton pad and wipe away the oil and nasties from my skin and presto. Done. This week I have had a few blemishes on my face, Not joking I was literally growing another Millie on the side of my face, But a few uses of this and It has now disappeared. If you have oily skin or suffer from acne or even just odd spots, then go check this out and also just check the whole range out, I love this brand so much. It’s changed my skincare game forever. You can pick it up for £8.99 from Boots for a 200ml bottle, Which is pretty affordable compared to other brands.
As you may know already, My favourite way to remove my makeup is using an oil cleanser. I just feel like it’s the best and most luxurious way to remove your make up! I have oily skin, which I know what you’re probably thinking…Oily skin and oil cleansers?! Well it seems to work for my skin, And I tend not to argue with it. I have tried quite a few cleansing oils and I love trying new ones. I noticed this Simple Hydrating cleaning Oil in boots and was so chuffed that Simple had added one to their range. I love Simple Skincare and everything I try I love from there range, However, This one isn’t the best oil I’ve ever tried. When I first used this, I did exactly what I normally do. I massage into dry skin, and remove with a hot cloth. Although I found when I was applying my moisturiser, It was almost like something was rubbing off my skin. The only way to describe this is when you’re at school (bear with me) and you get PVA glue on yours hands and then you rub it off and It comes off in small pieces, Well that was what was happening on my skin. I think that even though I removed with a hot cloth and also used a foaming cleanser after for a second cleanse, there was still something left on my skin. Now I have to admit, this isn’t the way simple recommend using it, so I gave it the benefit of the doubt and the second night I massaged into dry skin and then applied water and rinsed before using the hot cloth. It seemed to work well and I didn’t get any residue left over after trying this method, however it still didnt WOW me like some other oil cleansers I have tried. I doesn’t really smell of anything, If you’ve tried Clinique Take The day Of cleansing Balm then It smells just like that, I know that usually means there isn’t added ingredients that are unnecessary, However there is something nice about using a nice smelling cleansing oil. Don’t get my wrong, I will use it up and It does the job, But I don’t think I will repurchase. I personally absolutely love the Una Brennen Superfacialist Vitamin C Oil cleanser, My all time favourite and It’s around the same price, Seems like a no brainer to me.
