Boots Haul!

Boots Haul!

It’s been a while since I did a haul post. If I’m completely honest, I’ve been way to busy to shop this past couple of months. But last weekend, We had a little spare times on the saturday so we decided to pop into town. There was a few bits that I need to pick up because as always, I leave it until I run out of something completely until I need it again. So of course whilst I was in town I popped into Boots. I didn’t pick up loads but I just thought it would be nice to post what I picked up….

Maybelline Master Strobing Stick | REVIEW

Maybelline Master Strobing Stick | REVIEW

There is something about highlighters isn’t there? I suddenly turn into a magpie when it comes to highlighters, If it’s shiny…It’s mine. I’ve tried a few highlighters in my time and my normal type I’d describe as ‘disco ball highlighters’. You know they ones, The ones that you can see from space. However sometimes you do just want something with a little glow, Something to just make you look like you have a natural heathly glow. This highlighter by Maybelline is perfect for that. It’s called the Master Strobing Stick. It comes in two shades, The one I have which Is Light 001 and they also have a Medium 200 which is more of a golden highlight. The one I have is a little more cool toned, Almost a pink champagne colour. I do normally opt for a more golden toned highlight but this one seems perfect for every day where, Nothing too in your face. It applies really well, It’s not a wet formula or waxy like others I’ve tried. It doesn’t pull you skin or feel sticky and it doesn’t wipe your makeup off when you apply it. It’s almost cream to powder formula so when you swipe it on, You can blend out with your fingers and you’re good to go. Like I said, Don’t go expecting this to blind you when It’s on, Its more of a daily highlight. I have tried building this up though and it doesn’t end up looking cakey so If you do want something a little stronger than you could do that with this. The only thing I’m not keen on (and I am being nitpicky here) Is the packaging, It just feels kinda cheap and plasticky, But It is only £6.99 so It’s not something that would stop me from buying this. Definitely something to look for next time you’re in Superdrug or Boots! I’ve also seen they are doing a liquid version of this which looks interesting, I will keep my eyes peeled.

Chanel CC Cream SPF 30

Chanel CC Cream SPF 30

IMG_2563.jpg

Have I mentioned I’ve been on holiday? I know I might be going on about it but I used alot of new products whilst I was away. It meant bringing out a lot of multitasking products which I normally don’t use, Just like this one. It’s the Chanel CC Cream with SPF 30. I don’t normally like CC Creams, mainly because of the coverage. When it comes to base products I like full coverage foundations, No exceptions. However as I was going away to somewhere alot hotter that the UK, it seemed the only acceptable time to try a CC cream. I picked up this option from CHANEL, Mainly because of the SPF 30 which is an extremely high SPF for a CC Cream. Something that also caught my eye was the fact it was oil free, A huge bonus for me. Not only has it got an SPF 30, it is also proven to reduce redness, Shrink Pores and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. This was the only base product I took on holiday with me and It is now my new favourite. The coverage is incredibly good, Normally with cc creams, I don’t get the coverage I want but with this I was blown away. It’s easy to blend and you can build it up in places you want more coverage without looking cakey. It leaves such a fresh, Luminous look on the skin and it doesn’t feel like you have a thick, heavy foundation on. Perfect for hot weather. The only thing that I’m not keen on is the smell, It smells like your typical SPF but I can see past that considering how good the product is. It is quite expensive however this isn’t just any old CC cream, I always think it’s good to invest in good skincare, Especially when it comes to protecting your skin from sun damage!….However If you are looking for something that is a little cheaper, Stay tuned as I have a dupe coming your way!

The Magic Of Aloe Vera….

The Magic Of Aloe Vera….

IMG_2554.jpgIMG_2555IMG_2556They always say mother nature is the cure for everything. Well I recently went to Lanzarote, Which is known for having some pretty big Aloe Vera Plantations and  picked up somethings to try for myself as I’ve heard alot of great things about Aloe Vera based products. The first thing I got was the Aloe Vera Revitalising Cream which was incredibly cheap, You can get 3 tubs of this stuff for around 5.99 euros. Absolute Bargain! When I tried it in the shop it felt super moisterising but also lightweight so it didn’t feel like a rich cream on my oily skin. As it was okay for my face, I think i will get more use of it on the rest of my body. I think it will be a perfect summer moisturiser because it sinks in extremely quick. The other two things I didn’t actually buy myself, My mum picked them up for me to try as I had sunburn on my nose and was walking round like Rudolf. The brand is Natural Tone and 100% Natural, So you know exactly what you’re putting on your skin. After A few days my nose became incredibly red and flakey from sunburn, Even after using a spf 30 face moisturiser! The idea is to use these to products in conjunction with each other. I used the Recovery Gel With Organic Aloe and Tea Tree Oil first which relieves sunburn pain. it felt super cooling and I was expecting it to sting but it really didnt. A little went a long way with this, I only needed a little and it covered my whole nose and I still had some let over. I also applied this to any spots I had and It definitely calmed those down aswell. Once I had applied that I applied The Everyday Lotion Skin condition and Hydrator for abit of moisture. This stuff has seriously sorted my nose out. I had such dry, Flakey skin on my nose, it actually hurt to touch. But after applying this on my nose every morning and night it feels so much better and It’s actually getting back to somewhat normal. It’s also helping with my redness which Is something I’ve never been able to get rid of. I am now a lover of Aloe Vera.Thank you mother nature!

Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash | REVIEW

Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash | REVIEW

IMG_2582 (3).jpg

Recently I found my self on the hunt for a fuss free cleanser. I went to Lanzarote for a week not long ago and was in need of a space-saving cleanser. I normally have two cleansers, One is an oil and one is a gel wash to remove any left other makeup, But it seemed stupid to cart 2 separate cleansers to lanzarote. I’d seen a few people on youtube talk about this Garnier Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash and rave how amazing it was at removing makeup. It seemed like a perfect idea. When I went to Superdrug to pick it up there were a few to choose from, One had a pink lid (to go with the original micellar water), Then there was this one which is aimed at combination/sensitive skin. It has no parfume, Which is perfect for sensitive skin, It even says that it’s okay to use on your eyes. I would never normally dream of using any gel cleanser on my eyes but as It said it would be okay,  I gave it ago, Stupidly…It didn’t go to well. To be completely honest, It stung like a b*tch. I was really disappointed as I thought I’d be able to use it like I’d use my oil cleanser and it would remove my eye make up without having to claw my eyes out afterwards. I wouldn’t recommend using this on your eyes, HOWEVER, for the rest of the holiday I used it on the rest of my face only and It did work really well. I even did the white towel test and it did work which I was amazed at! It also claims to mattify which I think it did a pretty good job of. Perfect for the hot weather. I’m not sure if it is just this green top one that isn’t very good for your eyes so I’m considering giving the pink one ago. It’s only £2.66 which is incredibly affordable so I think I’m going to give the other one a chance. Wish me and my eyes luck.
