Top 5 Nail Polishes

Top 5 Nail Polishes

I’ve always had a problem biting my nails. I can never seem to stop. I’ll go a few months, get them to a nice length and then nervously bite them all off. If I get nervous about anything its my nails that bet the brunt of my nervousness, Poor buggers. So I don’t really where nail polish that often because whats the point? There’s hardly anything to paint! On occasion I like to wear false nails, Just to make my self feel better and make my hands not look like man hands. When I do put fakes nails on, I can break out my best nail polishes and I have 5 that I find myself reaching for every time.

I’ll Start off with the one I’m wearing now, It the chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour In Rose Confidentel. This shade is so beautiful, It’s a dusky rose that looks brilliant with a tan, It hardly ever chips so I can get good wear out of it and it apply’s great too. The applicator is fairly thin although doesn’t apply too much nail polish, So you don’t have that panic when it drips all over everything in its path.

My most recent purchase is the Loreal Colour Riche Le Vernis A L’Huile In Vert Absynthe. The colour is my favourite colour in the world. Khaki. Literally the whole of my wardrobe is khaki and I’m not ashamed. This colour looks so good on the nails, The main reason I picked it up is because I’ve never seen a nail colour like it. I also think that the applicator is brilliant as its wider and flatter than most, So it only takes like 2 swipes to cover your nail.

My favourite nail polish for this time of year is Essie Buy Me A Cameo. Its a lovely metallic baby pink so it suits spring beautifully. Everyone compliments me when I wear it. It quite subtle so if you don’t like bright, In your face nail polishes, You’ll love this.

I’m sure its no surprise that theirs a Tayna Burr Nail Polish in my top five. This is the shade Duvet day. A light grey colour, That isn’t dull. Some grey nail polishes can just look really dull but this one looks so bright and eyecatching. It applys like a dream and lasts really well. Brilliant for this time of year aswell.

Last but not least, Its Barry M in the colour Arabian from the Aquarium Collection. This colour is hard to explain, Its like a greeny, goldy colour. When its on your nails, Its green, But when caught in the light, It has a beautiful gold tint. Barry M are known for brilliant nail polishes so you know the formula and lasting power will be brilliant. Can’t get enough of this colour in summer!

Mac Pro Longwear Norishing Waterproof Foundation Review

Mac Pro Longwear Norishing Waterproof Foundation Review

Put your hands up if you have way to many foundations. *puts hands up*. I am guilty of being a foundation hoarder and I’m not ashamed! I have all sorts. But one that I didn’t have until recently was the Mac Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof foundation. What a mouthful. I picked this up purely for the fact that it was waterproof. Not that I go swimming very often or shower with my make-up on but my thought process was, If its waterproof, It will stay on forever. So I ordered it on the MAC website for around £25, quite expensive but what do you expect, its MAC. I picked up the shade NC20 and if I’m completely honest, I winged it when picking the colour. I didn’t know if it would even match but lets be honest, MAC shades are a complete minefield!

First impressions of this … Its very thick in consistency so if you like a sheer Foundation that you don’t want to feel on your face, then you probably wont like this, HOWEVER, I Love it. As it’s quite thick , It does need abit more attention when blending in, But when it has been blending in, It looks flawless! It is high coverage, I only needed to do one coat to get a full coverage face so thumbs up from me because I love full coverage foundations that need little effort. As for staying power, You’ve probably guessed it, Its also amazing. It lasts all day, It doesn’t rub off when you touch you’re face which is something that happens alot with other foundations.

Verdict? I Loved this foundation!

Maybelline Dream Velvet Matte Foundation

Maybelline Dream Velvet Matte Foundation

I had been meaning to try this for such a long time. Everytime I went into town I kept putting it off as i’ve been trying to save money, but a couple of weeks ago on a trip to boots, I decided i’d pick it up and give it a good old go!

Obviously as you’ve guessed by the name, its a matte finish. I wouldnt say its the sort of matte foundation that dries and leaves your face looking like you used a spoon to put it on. Its a really natual finish, It feels like you have nothing on your face which looks and feels lovely! I picked up the shade ivory, which suits me perfectly. It’s not too yellow and not too pink, its just in the middle.

As for the consistencey, its very thick, which is off putting at first as you think that its going to look really unatural on the face. But don’t let it trick you. It feels slighly ‘mousse like’ so It blends into a natural finish but still convering all of my redness and blemishes.

As for the staying power. I wear it on an every day basis and i’d say i have it on for about 12 hours. It last brilliantly, I dont have to power as it stays perfectly matte, and it doesnt oxidize on the face. Ive tried alot of matte foundations as they are my favourite type, and i have to say this is by far the best. I’ve worn it everyday since getting it and i love it! It take 2 seconds to blend with my bobbi brown blending brush so perfect if you’re in a rush and doesnt leave you’re face in a patchy mess. You cant moan at the price either, think i picked this up for around £5.99 So a perfect everyday foundation.

Khaki Nails

Khaki Nails

Its been a hectic and traumatic few days for me. I will go into more detail about this very soon when its all blown over and will do a post to explain, but basically this is gunna be a short one from me today!

I recently picked up this new nail varnish from Loreal. Its part of a new range of nail varnishes called Colour Riche Le Vernis L’Hulie. Isnt it such a beautiful colour? I’ve never seen this sort of khaki colour on the highstreet, its my favourite colour anyway so when i first saw it I knew it would be my all time fave. This new launch from loreal is enriched with a blend of precious oils so the colour and shine are both intense, which i definitely agree with.

I really think loreal nailed it with these ones… Like what i did there 😉

Oily Skin Must Haves

Oily Skin Must Haves

Me and my skin haven’t always seen eye to eye. For quite some time now, i’ve battled the oil and the blemishes. Along the way i have picked up a few skin care saviors that have helped me and my skin get along abit better. So today I wanted to tell you about the products that have helped me in my battle and hopefully will help yours.

La Roche Posay Sero Zinc – £8.50

I’ll start off with the most talked about beauty product in the beauty world. If you have Oily skin and haven’t tried La Roche Posay Sero Zinc, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! I have been using this for over a year now, and I swear by it. It has only three ingredients. Thermal Water, Zinc Sulfate and Astringent Sodium Chloride. I mean if that doesn’t sound like a oil-busting cocktail I don’t know what does. I use after cleansing as a toner, and spray it all over the face. It feels so refreshing and cooling. It does wonders for my skin, I feel like since using this product, My skin has come on leaps and bounds.

Avene Clearance Cleansing Gel-£8.25

I saw this whilst browsing the aisles of Boots in the hunt for a new, cheaper cleanser (trying to be good and save money). It was recommended for oily/blemish prone so I though i’d give it ago. I’m so glad I did. I’ve tried alot of cleansers aimed at oily skin, but none have come close to this one. You’re face feels so clean after using it. It’s soap free so no nasties in there, and it has the Avene thermal water in there to help sooth aggravated skin. I’ve gotten through so many bottles of this but its definitely a holy grail product now!

KIKO Pruifying Pads

These are brilliant for when your skin is having a really bad time and just hates your guts. They are astringent so great for oily skin and they feel so refreshing when you wipe them all over your face after cleansing. I usually hate these sort of pads because most of them a pretty strong. You know the ones I mean. You know they are strong when you wipe them over a blemish and you do a little pain dance. But these ones don’t sting at all. A brilliant addition to my skincare draw.

KIKO Purifying Fluid

Another product from the Purifying Range. I can’t help it, They really get on with my skin. I use this as a night time moisturiser because it;s lightweight and refreshing. It doesn’t linger on your skin for ages so you end up getting your pillow case stuck to the side of your face. It sinks in almost instantly and you’re left with a moisturised, supple, Non Oil-slick Face.

Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil-£32

I’m not going to waffle on too much about this product as i already have a whole other post dedicated to this little beauty, (here). Let just say, I looooove this Oil. I know, Crazy. An oil for oily skin. But trust me, It works wonders. My blemishes are reduced and my face doesn’t turn into an oily mess by the end of the day. You could actually use this as a spot treatment if you really wanted to. It seems to reduce the size of spots which i’ve never come across in an oil before and it also Moisturizes so well. A Win win product!

Simple Oil Balancing Moisturiser-£2.79

The best, Budget friendly daily moisturiser  I have ever come across. Simple is a very popular brand. well know for there skin friendly and purse friendly products. This product stood out to me straight away. It’s super light and non greasy so perfect for Oily skin. It also has zinc in it which is a well known ingredient for oily skin and as most of the other simple skin products, there are no artificial perfumes or colours so nothing in there will aggravate your skin.
