I love abit of denim me, and you can’t beat a good denim jacket. I’ve been after a good denim jacket for a long time but I couldn’t find the perfect one anywhere. I wanted something that was over sized, Light in colour and not to short, as now a days every denim jacket out there seems to be really short. I’m not picky at all, Honest…
Anyway I saw this on Newlook’s website and had to have it! Its just the right colour, length and size. It is slightly distressed so it has abit of a retro vibe to it which I love. I decided to were my black denim ripped jeans and checked red and green shirt which I think makes this look very ‘rock-chic’ Esque. I picked up this shirt a few years back from a second hand shop so i’m not sure of the brand, It was originally men’s although I think I pull it off okay…Any who, We went to watch our friend at motocross today, Hence the muddy field. The track was absolutely huge so I wanted something comfy to wear on my feet as I knew I would be walking quite far. So of course, I picked my Black Vans. I don’t go a day with out wearing them, They’re sooooo comfy but still look, dare i say ‘cool’.
So all in all, I really liked this outfit. It’s something you can just shove on and feel relaxed in, but still look kinda edgy.
I’ll also leave you with this lovely picture. Most bloggers nail the off guard look and still look all graceful and majestic. I Just look like an idiot haha..
I Have alot of clothes, I’ll admit. Most of which, I have never even put on, some still even have tags on. So after watching a few Youtube videos about Capsule wardrobes, I knew it was the way to go. For those of you that don’t know what a capsule wardrobe is, It’s where you have a select amount of items in your wardrobe, and you switch it up every three months, whether you pull clothes out of storage, or buy some news ones. I liked the idea of having a set amount of items that you can make into numerous different outfits, And of course, you’re saving money in the process. who doesn’t like saving money!
Its very simplistic, although you know when you go to your wardrobe to pick an outfit, you won’t be chucking the contents of your wardrobe all over your bedroom complaining you don’t have anything to wear. This was a daily occurrence for me so I knew it was time for change. I needed to streamline. So yesterday, I went though my whole wardrobe and threw away anything I didn’t wear. I’ll admit, I did have a few moments thinking ‘I might need this soon for when I have something important to go to’ or ‘This would look lovely, with that skirt, that I have also never worn’. I was hard on myself. Things had to go. But after I had finished, I was happy with the results. I actually decided to have two separate wardrobes. One for work, and my normal wardrobe. As I work in an office, the stuff I wear to work is fairly formal, so it made sense to have two separate wardrobes.
I was left with hardly anything to be honest, but I was left with all of the items that I wear on a daily basis, things that I know I like and I know I will continue to get the wear out of. After putting all of my unwanted clothes in a bag ready to go to the charity shop, I made a list of all the things I needed to add to my wardrobe so that I would be good to go for 3 months. I was lacking in plain, basic tee’s and basic lounge wear. So next on my ‘To-Do List’ was to buy all the things on the list, because when the three months are up, the weather will be getting abit warmer in Britain (fingers crossed), So i will be able to pull my summer clothes out of storage. I’m thinking of doing some posts on the items I kept and the items I brought to add to my new wardrobe. So look out for those soon!
So this valentines day, Me and my boyfriend, Danny, decided we wasn’t going to buy each other fancy gifts and flowers. As it was out sixth Valentines together, and we will moving out this year, we decided it would be a better idea to use the money we would of for gifts and spend it on a nice day out. We ended up going to Statford Upon Avon. Luckily, the weather decided it would be fairly nice and sunny today. As it was sunny but still a bit chilly, I went with my big fury leopard print coat, which is my FAVOURITE coat, Ever. I have abit of a obsession with leopard print at the moment. I paired this with my Topshop white shirt and ASOS high waisted jeans. I love this shirt as its so simple and easy to just shove on and tuck into jeans. It was still sunny outside so i did need to wear sunglasses, I chose my H&M Round reflective sunglasses because i think they added something a little different to my outfit. (The main reason i picked them is because they look coooool.)
I had only ever been to Stratford Upon Avon once, but i was very small so i can’t really remember much apart from the fact it was Shakespears birthplace. It is such a lovely british town. There are so many lovely coffee shops and restaurants that are so unique. The shops are also brilliant, they have many shops that i don’t have locally, like space NK and The White Company.
I only picked up two things, which both were candles… I have no regrets.
The first candle I picked up was The White Company ‘Wild Fig’. There was so much choice in the shop it was hard to pick, although this one stood out to me as a more spring/summer Scent as its very fresh. The only problem is, I don’t want to burn it! It’s too pretty. I think I might save this one for when I move out.
The second candle I picked up was ‘Our Own Candle Company’ in Ginger Peach. I had never heard of these before, they wear in a little gift shop called Magpiebox and they all come in small jars which is sooo cute. But the main reason I liked these candles was because they actually smell exactly like there meant to…if that makes any sense. They smell so strong so you know as soon as you light them in your room, it will smell of it after 5 minutes.
After a little mosey around the shops, we realised every cafe was full to the brim by lunch time, So we ended up having lunch in a little coffee shop just on the high street which was lovely. Overall, I had such a lovely day for valentines day, and I have lots of pictures to remember it with.
