What’s In My Travel Make-Up Bag?

So as you may of may not know, I’m going on holiday next week. I’m only going to Wales with Danny, So no where exotic, But I am still excited to have a little life breather and have some time away relaxing. It is actually the same place where we both went on out first holiday together 4  Years ago, So it’s a pretty special place. No doubt I’ll probably have a thousand blog posts full of holiday themed outfits so look out for those in a couple of weeks. Anyway I digress. Something I can absolutely crap at is packing. I end up packing way too much when I’m only going away for a week. Especially make-up…Who needs to take 5 different shades of brown lipstick? Me! But this time I am determined to keep it as simple as possible.

First of all, Base. I’m taking 3 things. two concealers and 1 foundation. I am taking my NYX Correction concealer as I have quite a lot of redness around my nose and this keeps it at bay all day long. The next concealer is my trusty FIT me concealer. It does a brilliant job of concealing under my eyes and any blemishes. It’s quite high coverage so I can get away with just wearing this under my eyes and not wearing any foundation some days. Perfect for going to the beach. For days when I need abit more coverage I am taking my FIT me Matte & Poreless Foundation. Its full coverage but without feeling cakey and It keeps my face matte all day.

On to primers and SPF. I have looked at the weather in the next two weeks and surprise, it’s raining everyday In Wales when we go. But it’s still Important to take an SPF. I am taking my La Roche Posay SPF 50+. I have abit more info on it in this blog post here but I think it’s a perfect option for going away. I have the sample size aswell so great of saving space. I’m taking my sample size MAC Prep and Prime Skin Visage as It makes my makeup go on so smoothly and It makes it last all day too! I’m also taking The Balm Put A Lid On It Eye Primer again in a sample size. It makes my eyeshadow go on so well and makes it last for agggeeessss.

For powder I am taking my Boujois Silk Edition powder. This is my absolute fave face powder as It sets all my makeup in place whilst adding a little extra coverage. It’s a nice little compact to take in my bag aswell If I am going exploring for the day. I’m taking two bronzers, Probably a little excessive but I like to use a cream bronzer and set with a powder bronzer. The cream bronzer I am taking is the Loreal Glam Bronze Cushion De Soliel. I’m loving this at the moment, it’s so fresh and glowy. I like to set it with the Urban Decay Beached Bronzer. It quite orange toned but adds a such a subtle bronzey glow. Now for my fave! Blusher. I am taking my MAC Mineralised Blush in Warm Soul. It’s a warm peachy toned blush, It’s also has a little sheen too it so makes you look healthy and glowing.

Oh wow, Just look at it. Isn’t it beautiful? Of course I cant leave my highlighter behind. It’s my favourite make up product! I am taking the Becca X Jaclyn Hill Highlighter in Champaign Pop. You’ve all probably seen it before so I won’t ramble on, I’ll let the picture do the talking.

I am taking 1 eyeshadow palette. Now I have to admit it was pretty hard picking one from my collection to take. But I narrowed It down to this one. It’s the Tarte In Bloom Palette. It has so many different eye looks in here that I had to make sure It was coming with me. I have a more detailed post with swatches and stuff here but I think this is the prefect palette to take away with my as i won’t need anything else for my eyes.

This wasn’t a hard choice for me, I love this mascara so It was an obvious choice. It makes my eyelashes look so long, I don’t know how because I don’t even have long eyelashes. It doesn’t go clumpy, it isn’t too wet nor too dry, It’s just amazing. I will be putting up a full review of this tomorrow so if you want to know more, It will be up at around 10AM.

Keeping to the ‘Travel Friendly’ Theme, I’m taking the Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow definer to keep the brows tamed. It has a spooley on one end and the brow product on the other. As it is a triangler shape, It is brilliant for filling in the brow precisely and quickly.

Now this was probably the hardest choice for me. which lipsticks to take? I have way too many lipstick that are the same browny shade but nothing comes close to my beloved MAC  velvet teddy. It doesn’t require too much effort, You just smooth on and your ready to go. I wanted to take a bright lip but I was torn between a coral or a red. I ended up picking the coral because I have been absolutely  loving this colour on my lips at the moment. I have another blog post about it here with swatches and more info.

Of course I’m going to have to take tools to apply all this makeup. I’m keeping it simple with brushes as they take up a lot of room so I’ve picked 4 in total that can do a few different jobs. For foundation and concealer, I have got the real techniques Buffing Brush. I love this brush as you can also use it for blush and cream bronzer so It’s a brilliant all-rounder. I’ve got my Real Techniques Setting Brush for highlighter because It is the best highlighter brush I have ever tried. For bronzer and powder, I’ve got another Real Techniques Brush. This brush Is brilliant for applying a light coverage of powder and also an excellent bronzer brush because its nice and big! Last but not least is my Tarte double ended eyeshadow brush which came with my Tarte In Bloom palette. It’s great for applying eyeshadow and also has a blending brush on the other end too.

Now all that’s left is skin care! Of course I am going to be taking my favourite moisturiser at the moment, The Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel With Berry’s. So refreshing and a brilliant option for summer. Another good option for summer is this simple eye cream. It’s a gel like texture and super lightweight so doesn’t take forever to sink in. To keep my lips hydrated I’m taking my Nivea Hydra Care spf 15. Protects and moisturises.

Overall I think I’ve done a pretty good job of streamlining my travel makeup bag, Kinda. Be prepared for all the holiday based posts coming up!
